After you purchase or renew an Alpha SSL certificate, you will need to install or reinstall the certificate by following the instructions on Alpha SSL's website: Open Alpha SSL's website. Scroll down to the 'Overview' section and select your webserver from the list for exact instructions. Be sure to include their Intermediate Certificate to help complete the 'Chain of Trust' Depending on your webserver, you will need your Alpha SSL certificate code, which can be found in your Dynadot account under the "My SSL" tab. Click on the domain and the code will be at the very top of the page under "-----BEGIN CERTIFICATE-----". Be sure to read through all of the instructions on Alpha SSL's support page, as some webservers may have certain requirements to complete the installation. For example, some webservers require you to stop Apache and restart it after installation. If you do not know how to do this, you will need to contact your web host before you install.
When you set your domain to use our email hosting or Website Builder, we automatically install a free SSL certificate on your website, eliminating any concerns you may have about securing your site. Please keep in mind: The issuance and installation of the free SSL certificate may require some time. As of February 1, 2023, we no longer offer website services for email hosting purchased after that date. Our Website Builder's Pro plan includes a built-in SSL certificate for its e-commerce shopping cart feature.
No, we do not have a copy as your private key is generated with your CSR. If your private key was not saved or has been lost and you need your SSL certificate reissued, please follow these steps: Sign in to your Dynadot account. Select "My SSL" from the left-side menu bar. Find the SSL you want reissued and click on the "Reissue" link. Enter your newly generated CSR in the "New CSR" box. Click the checkbox below to confirm you understand that this is not a SSL certificate renewal. Click on the "Reissue" button. Follow the "Checkout" process to reissue your certificate.
